Towing season is here and whether you're planning weekend getaways or full-blown road trips, making sure your camper is road-ready is the key to a stress-free adventure. At L.A.N.D. Auto Center, we’ve got everything you need to get your camper geared up and it’s good to go. Here are 10 essential things to check, prep, and stock before you hit the open road:
1. Check & Upgrade Your Towing Gear
Before you hook up, inspect your towing setup. Do you have the right hitch ball, reducer, and brake controller for your rig? If not, we’ve got you covered. L.A.N.D. stocks all the towing essentials, and if you’re upgrading to a 5th wheel or gooseneck, we can order it in and professionally install it for you.

2. Inspect Your Tires
Both your vehicle and trailer tires need a once-over. Look for cracks, uneven wear from being parked over the winter, or low tread. We can inspect and get you a tire quote so you can drive with confidence all season long.
3. Test & Replace Batteries
Don’t get caught in the dark. Make sure your trailer battery is fully charged and replace any worn-out units. We’ve got a selection of reliable batteries ready to go.
4. Lubricate Moving Parts & Protect Rubber Seals
Sticking windows or slide-outs? Hit them with WD-40 3-in-1 Dry Lube, perfect for keeping tracks clean and smooth without attracting dirt and dust with it’s fast drying and not greasy formula. Your camper’s seals take a beating from the elements like rain, snow and sun. A few sprays of rubber protectant can extend their life and help prevent leaks.

5. Flip the Switches
Before you hit the road, plug in and test all your electrical systems, both 12V and shore power. This includes your lights, outlets, water pump, fridge, slide-outs, and A/C unit. You don’t want to get to your campsite only to find a blown fuse, dead battery, or a system that’s not working.
6. Stay Fresh with the Right Essentials
Stock up on potable water hoses, sewage hoses, and toilet paper before your first trip. L.A.N.D. carries all your camper plumbing basics so you’re not scrambling at the campground.

7. Chock Those Wheels
Keep your trailer safe and stable when parked with a good set of wheel chocks. Simple, essential, and available in-store!
8. Keep Bugs at Bay
Don’t let mosquitoes ruin your firepit evenings. We’ve got reliable mosquito repellents to keep the campsite itch-free. Say goodbye to messy sprays and smoky coils! At L.A.N.D. Auto Center, we carry two of Thermacell’s top-rated mosquito repellers, proven to keep your campsite bite-free all season long. We carry the E55 Rechargeable Mosquito Repeller that has a rechargeable battery lasting up to 5.5 hours per charge and a 20-foot zone of protection. We also carry the Patio Sheild Mosquito Repeller that has no batteries or cords needed and a 15 foot zone of protection with easy to replace cartridges.

9. Get Comfortable Outdoors
Enjoy your downtime with our Kuma camping chairs perfect for fireside lounging or relaxing by the lake. And if open fires are a no-go, check out our propane fire pits for a warm, hassle-free glow.
10. Need More Storage or Adventure Gear?
Ask about our Sea Suckers (roof racks) perfect for bikes, paddleboards, or extra cargo. Easy to use and super secure! SeaSucker racks use industrial-strength vacuum mounts (not suction cups!) to create a rock-solid hold on your vehicle’s roof, trunk, or glass—without the need for bolts, crossbars, or permanent fixtures. That means no drilling, no damage, and complete flexibility. Set up is two easy steps, position the rack (on a smooth, clean surface—metal, glass, or fiberglass.) and pump to seal (press and pump until orange indicator disappears). This locks it in place with up to 210 lbs of pull strength per suction cup!
